Victor gives her a smile. "It's all right," he tells her. "It's r-really all m-moot at the m-moment. I'm not g-going home anytime soon, I'm s-sure." And he's not entirely sure he'd go home if he got the chance, guilt over never seeing his parents again and leaving Miss Everglot forever bereft aside. "And I d-do appreciate the thought.
